HAPPY SPRING EVERYONE,

We've had some great days for the beach so I wanted to let you know all about SUNSCREENS - of which we have 6 wonderful organic brands - BURTS BEES, NEALS YARD REMEDIES, SANTE, LOGONA, LAVERA, AUBREY ranging from Factor 15 to 46.

NEW EU REGULATIONS FOR SUNSCREENS
The EU and Colipa has stated that the new ratio is 1:3 UVA TO UVB - that is, they want protection now for UVA.   The SPF is for protection against UVB.   For those who don't know, UVA is the penetrating rays and UVB are the rays that cause sunburn.  Natural mineral sunscreens have always provided both because of the oils used.

SPF20  blocks 95% of UVB.  A higher SPF only provides minimal more UVB protection so don't be fooled by SPF 50.  This is why you'll see mostly SPF20 from now on.  This brings us onto another subject - NANOTECHNOLOGY/PARTICLES.  Most sunscreens are only a high factor because the particles are so small but this is dangerous as it penetrates the skin,  then into the bloodstream and toxicity builds up and they disrupt the hormone system.

While on the subject of summer, why not try SWEET WORMWOOD/QING HAO (Artemisia annua) (Sweet Annie) for protection with malaria.  Now, I'm not saying not to take your malaria pills and this herb is not a preventative but traditionally this herb was used in malaria symptoms and also for parasites.  Bitter herbs offer protection in the immune system in the gut plus they are cooling to the liver and this is much nicer in flavour than the very bitter wormwood.
